Feeding the Soul

Food made with love nurtures the body and soul

Feeding the Soul

There’s something beautifully simple about feeding people. It embodies love, kindness and connection. Miss Wanda, as our kids affectionately call her, embodies the same. She has a heart for the struggling and a knack for softening hardened hearts. She serves more than 100 meals every week, through our daily program Feeding the Soul, remembering who doesn’t eat chicken off the bone, who doesn’t eat pork, and serving each plate with an abundance of love. Food is love, and she makes sure each one of our kids feels it.

Homeless youth or youth in crisis join us for a homemade family-style lunch each weekday at noon. More than a meal, it is also a time to casually connect with staff, peers, volunteers, donors and visitors. It's where some of our most important work gets done—and doesn't feel like work at all.

If you want to see what Feeding the Soul is all about, join us for lunch! Reach out to Allyson Ruscitella and let us know you’re coming!
