Hope’s Village is a safe place for homeless and at-risk youth

Hopes Village

A safe place in downtown Leesburg for homeless and at-risk youth to experience community and unlock their potential.

Seeing the Full Frame

The homeless, precariously-housed and at-risk youth who walk through our doors have experienced trauma, poverty, neglect, abuse, violence and other tragedies.

While we can’t change their past, we can help them build their future.

We take a people-centered, not problem-centered approach. We foster well-being through creating stability, safety, social connectedness, mastery and providing meaningful access to relevant resources.

Using the 5 Domains of Well-Being and the power of relationship and purpose, we help them flourish. While they are in emergency shelter, they come to Mobile Hope everyday to plan, connect with peers and mentors, and volunteer.

When we collaborate on a plan, we look at the “full frame”, and seek to understand how tradeoffs in one realm impact the other arenas from the client’s perspective. For instance, if the only affordable housing is in a neighborhood they are trying to flee, that trade off is too high. We work together for a better solution. Since we offer a multitude of services and spend a significant amount of time with each youth in our program, we learn what tradeoffs make sense for them.

Hope’s Village offers a safe place for our youth to connect, receive services and vital supplies, and rebuild their life.

Each kid who walks through our doors is unique, but a history of trauma is the common thread. Hope’s Village provides a safe haven for these kids to be themselves, in an environment free from judgement.
